Midnight Sun V http://www.midnightsun.uwaterloo.ca/www/history/msv/ Description In Sunrayce, 99, Midnight Sun V was placed in 10th overall. And for the first time the Midnight Sun Team traveled to Australia to participate in the World Solar Challenge 99. We took home a 5th standing in the Cut-out class, a 25th overall standing and a “Battler’s Award,” which was awarded to the team for “overcoming the most adversity to the finish line.” As our media coverage may have explained, our car broke down at 500km from the finish because of a motor failure. Choosing not to withdraw until absolutely necessary, we managed to find MIT who graciously lent us their spare motor and thus allowed us to finish the race. |
