Aurora 4 http://www1.umn.edu/umnsvp/aurora4/index.html Description Aurora 4 is the 3rd iteration of a vehicle design that began with Aurora II. Each successive car incorporates the acheivements of the previous vehicles while learning from the mistakes. The team is challenged to not only build a car superior to our competitors at the races, but also to build a more efficient and reliable car than our predecessors. With Aurora 4 we have made a number of key improvements. The aerodynamic shell design has been further improved: sporting a lower drag coefficient, smaller frontal area, lighter weight, and improved composite manufacturing processes. This vehicle incorporates a redesigned cruise control, highly detailed electronics, light weight batteries, simplified digital display for the driver, as well as a new motor system. Aurora 4 is smaller, faster, and lighter than her predecessors with increased reliability and efficiency. |
