| On Road Aerodynamic Testing Photo by Sean Willis created 11/9/1997 submitted 9/9/2003 08:43:31 PM Original tuft testing for post race analysis on UIUC Photon Torpedo. The car was run at speed on a rural road (Royal, IL) and stationary observers and chase car attempted to diagnose aerodynamic difficulties. As seen in this photo, stagnation occurs behind the front wheel fairings. Also, vortex pattern at trailing edge of car was implying overall lift on the vehicle. | |
