Rotating Fairing Mechanism Photo by Sean Willis created 6/18/1997 submitted 9/9/2003 09:01:09 PM Rotating Front Fairing, UIUC Photon Torpedo. Carbon fairing included embedded Al c-channel which encompassed a "bearing strap" comprised of shower door rollers oriented both horizontally and vertically. A fiberglass strap was mounted across the fairing, with slots for two bolts (mounted to the suspension upright) to ride in and actually rotate the fairing.
