The top shell of the Back2Back Burner was made from carbon and in this instance we used release film carefully taped to the mold since any minor wrinkles on the finished shell would be covered by solar cells. This meant we did not have to cure a release agent on the molds beforehand.

Top shell of the Back2Back Burner after it is taken out of the mold. Kapton polyamide film was used in the layup to provide an insulating layer on the carbon surface where solar cells will go.
