Insert Test Photo by eloy avila created 11/17/2002 submitted 11/17/2002 07:05:04 AM Steel inserts are often used/needed when working with aluminum suspesions. Here two types of inserts were tested. One type has a nylon patch to keep if locked with the threads and the other has locking pins that sink into the aluminum when inserted. A probable method of failure is due to torsional loading.
