| Laser 5th Wheel Photo by Furqan Nazeeri created 6/20/1993 submitted 1/18/2004 11:00:50 AM This is a bad quality screen capture, but I just had to show this. This is a non-contact, laser 5th wheel that we used to find our position along the race route. We had digitized the elevation along the route (using a barometric altimeter) and this 5th wheel. We then used it during the race to locate ourselves. Of course, now you can buy a GPS locator for a few hundred dollars, but that's a luxary we didn't have! | |
